Mason bees, bumblebees, honeybees and more! Discover our local bees and learn simple and easy ways to help our backyard bees thrive. Class will start indoors, then head outside for a bee safari throughout VanDusen?s rich bee habitat. Children over age 10 are welcome to participate in this class.
Blessed Bee Honey Shares provide a great hands-on learning opportunity, children welcome, and a chance to experience directly the connection between the honey and the bees and you. We’ll cover all the basics of beekeeping the Blessed Bee Farm way, inspect the hive, and learn about the biology and behaviour of the honeybee.
We’ll remove the surplus honey and extract it right there and then. You’ll have met the bees that made the honey you take home. You can be assured having seen the honey harvest from the beginning to the bottle that your Honey Share will be raw, unfiltered, unprocessed, unpasteurized and the freshest product you can get. Extraction and bottling will happen onsite at the same time. This will be an all day event.
Share offerings will be limited. Each share receives one frame/1.5 kilos of honey.
